There’s not a whole lot we can do about that FUPA, but we can certainly strengthen and tone our abs, and eat good foods to fuel our bodies! It only takes a few minutes each day to make a serious difference in your core strength. Do it while you are watching TV. I do heel slides, knee roll outs or glute bridges as I begrudgingly lay next to my toddlers to keep their asses in their new toddler beds. Yes, I want your sympathy. And OH MY GAWD…can we talk about nap transitions? One of my twins won’t nap! No, I’m serious. Now they are on different schedules.
Back on message here…core strength is so very important, particularly as moms. We lift our kids, the laundry, move the couch to vacuum, and the list goes on and on. Our core protects us. It keeps our back from aching. It is our body’s hub. Everything depends on the strength of our core!
Speaking of strong…I saw a mom yesterday as I was at a stoplight walking down the steps of her apartment carrying a baby in a car seat while toting full laundry basket. I was like, “Heck, yeah, women are strong!” I seriously wanted to stop and take her picture. She would have thought I was a total creeper, so I didn’t, but I loved this everyday moment of mom strength. Make those moments a little easier by taking ten minutes for yourself each day to do a little core work. Your whole body will thank you, and you’ll be happy you did it.
Love these resistance bands…super cheap and so handy.
Aim to do 3 rounds. 20 reps on each exercise (10 each side when alternating).
